Testing software for control systems of the GEVO12 diesel engine and the TE33AC freight locomotive from General Electric (USA)

Software testing of the General Electric (USA) consolidated control system was conducted on the GEVO12 diesel engine and the TE33AS freight locomotive. EAEU Declaration No. RU D-US ZhT02 B 00325/19
The TE33A locomotive was designed for operation on 1520 mm gauge railways. It is a single-section, six-axle locomotive. The diesel engine is equipped with a microprocessor control system with electronic fuel injection and an on-board diagnostic system. Its design speed is 120 km/h. It is positioned as the primary replacement for the two-section 2TE10 diesel locomotive. Compared to the latter, the TE33A's emissions were reduced by more than 40%, and fuel and oil consumption by 17%.

The diesel locomotive uses an AC electric transmission with asynchronous traction motors, which increase axial power by approximately 1.5 times compared to commutator motors. It also features single-stage spring suspension and jaw bogies.
