The microprocessor control system (MPSU-007) for DC electric locomotives with commutator traction motors is based on microprocessor control units integrated into an onboard computer network via a serial communication channel.
The microprocessor control system for DC electric locomotives is designed to:
- implement the "Auto-driving," "Advisor," "Auto-regulation," and "Manual Control" modes of the electric locomotive in traction and braking modes (MPSU-007-01 and MPSU-007-02 only);
- automatically or manually control the acceleration of the electric locomotive in traction;
- implement a rheostatic control (EP2K) Braking while maintaining a set speed on downhill slopes;
-equipment and auxiliary drive control;
-electric locomotive equipment diagnostics.
The MPSU-007 hardware is modular and uses software-based information processing principles.
The MPSU-007 has an open architecture and allows for the addition of additional locomotive monitoring and control systems to the overall system.
