Testing software for microprocessor control systems, equipment control units, indication and recording systems for the 2ES5 electric locomotive and the EP20 locomotive of TRTrans LLC (Russia)

Software testing of the microprocessor control systems, equipment control units, indication and recording units (ICUs) for the 2ES5 electric locomotive and the EP20 locomotive of TRTrans LLC (Russia) has been completed.

The microprocessor-based control and diagnostic system for the electric locomotive's electrical equipment is designed to control the traction drive and electrical components of single-, two-, and three-section AC mainline electric locomotives with EP1, 2EL5, 2ES5K, E5K commutator traction motors, booster sections, VL80TK(SK), and other locomotives, including those operating on a multiple-unit system. It also provides automatic control of travel modes, monitors the condition of the locomotive's equipment, and provides information about the equipment's condition to the driver and to a non-volatile removable storage device.
